That airgun actually has a gas piston inside and from what you're describing, I'd say that the seal on the piston has gone bad. You can order a piston from Hatsan USA ( https://hatsanairgunsusa.com/ ) and make the repairs yourself. Check out the guy below for lots of good Hatsan vids...

I use SubMOA on iPhone. It was free when I got it a few years back. Easy to use and does all your measurements for you.

Check the female end for debris. If the male end can't go in far enough the bearings won't align properly with the groove.

I have a Hatsan 87 QE which is essentially the same inner workings and the Crosman Premier HP's work fine! I've also had success with the Air Arms diabolos.

The Evanix Rex design appears to have been bought by Gamo. It is now branded as the GamoTC35 or 45 depending on caliber.
