Be advised that the poof you see when you fire is likely the high pressure from the gun moving through the humid air outside the gun. I use air that comes from an industrial dryer and pump and still see the poof.

My understanding is that the 177, 22 and 25 magazines are the same exact size on the exterior dimensions -- so the holder will fit any of those.

I have a set of these in my Wildcat with Leupold rings. No issue whatsoever. A bit funky to put on, but solid installed. 

Must be oilless. Correct. Funny you mentioned filters. The whole thing that got me started on this was moisture from my hamd pump getting into the gun since I do not have a dessicant filter. My compressor has an air dryer. So that is what got me started thinking about this.
