Just from experience a .22 hitting around 35fpe is not fair to the coyote. First shot was a head shot at about 20yards coyote flopped like a fish stood up another head shot fell over. Got up and twisted his way under a big bush hit him again and one more time to make sure. .25 or bigger for me. 

Just got off the phone with Pyramyd great customer service! They said it was okay too ship as is, And a new one is on the way. Parts do fail and it’s no reflection on the quality of the Diana K98. It’s truly an beautiful air gun. 

Thanks Mike but with the bear trap fully engaged the trigger will not release the piston. It seems as if the bear trap release broke just above the pin that holds it. Don’t want to take it apart and void any warranty. I’m sure it needs a new spring it’s been cocked for two days now.

Carlos, I bought two .22 Gauntlets one for myself and one for my son. Both rifles have been spot on. No problem with the barrel shifting at all. I did a little work to both and have them shooting at 900fps /29fpe. Very happy with my Gauntlet.
