I never had a problem with my HW100 it was a good shooter at anyone's standards. High quality gun...That's what I'm going by.

there are gun socks that are impregnated with rust inhibitors....probably your best bet.

I had a 22 HW100 FAC and it only shot JSB domed pellets accurately, it shot a few other domed pellets semi accurate, but it seemed very pellet picky. Would have like it more if it had shot other pellet shapes well, but it didn't.

that doesn't look like a very well designed locking device....would be better with a notched out barrel and some sort of flat stock which gets tightened down on the flat stock to snug up the barrel. More parts and would cost more

I asked about humidity and temp changes a while back and no one replied. Thanks. Temp may affect the cross hairs in th escope too, due to expanding/contracting metals...not sure if it could be all that much though....just a thought

it's the o-ring at the barrel breach. I had mine do that a few times, then the o-ring came out. I put it back in and no problems since.

Why don't you ask the dealer which you plan to buy one from???? I'm sure they will be more than happy to answer your questions regarding the two.

On the Bobcat, there is no need to degass, just unscrew there is a valve in the bottle.

One thing which has been hit upon already is the FX guns, seem to be picky on pellet choice IMHO they only shoot JSB domed pellets accurately. Others do OK but JSB by far the best shooting. So pretty much limited to JSB pellets. I have not heard this mentioned with other brands. I have Bobcat...

another one zeroed at the top of my shot curve, keeps it simple for me. I have a small chart which tells me how much to hold over at various ranges (and power). I use the parallax ring as my range finder. I remarked the ranges on it as the marks were not right for the range marked on the ring.

if the gun has a magazine, look for wear where it is inserted to the breech, if a bolt look for shinny wear marks on it. Same with the fill probe. Check pivot points also. Of course if it has tags still attached that would be a good sign, but they can be put back on. A beat up box might or...

If it were my money I'd be buying a Vulcan over the Widcat....IMHO FX are more picky on pellet type and prefer JSB Domed pellets, Vulcans do better with more variety of pellets. The Vulcans are getting impressive reviews here.


I pretty sure AOA is the sole importer of FX in the US, then distributes them to the other dealers...that being said AOA should have caught that before shipping it out. AOA mentioned testing each gun before shipping.

That gun shouldn't have even been shipped to you. If this was sold in the states I though AOA checked all before shipping.
