I have or have owned both. Nothing is going to be more quiet than the HW100. Having said that, the Wolverine R is certainly not loud or offensive. I would consider it to be backyard friendly, too.

I love the Hawke Sidewinder series of 6-24 abs 8-32 but I don't have any with less than a 56 mm objective lense. I think that makes a huge difference.
