FX Impact and Panthera Safeties Opposite

The panthera is the correct way. Its faster to thumb the safety down to fire than try to thumb it up to fire. The panthera matches AR-15 design for the safety position and thats the way the impact should have been.

    How to Start With Slugs

Buy a tin of H&N hollow point heavy slugs in a weight you like or a couple weights. Thats what works best in my 2 impact m3's and my panthera. One impact is a .22 the other is a .25 and the panthera is a .22. the .22 impact and panthera both love the .218 34 gr. H&N and the .25 loves the .250...

    N/A Where to begin

Depends on the PCP. Some things are similar or the same across the board like transfer port location but other things like regulator location can vary based on design. A regulator does exactly what it name says it regulates the air pressure to the valve. It creates a constant air pressure to the...

N/A What's your favorite compact PCP?

I had it setup for about a little more than a year and honestly I remember filling it once after tuning and sighting in :ROFLMAO:

N/A What's your favorite compact PCP?

I would say go for the .22 if it has the needed power. I really like the crown with 380mm barrels. Honestly I like the crown with any barrel length but when I need a short light setup I get a 380mm out. I have impacts that are just as short or shorter if you stick something under 700mm on them...

Distance added by height of target

If you can see the target clutter shouldnt be an issue. Even if the target is up against the trunk and theres only a small opening for shooting thru if you range the clutter at the front the opening the difference in distance is so small you should still hit the target. A 12' long branch only...

N/A What's your favorite compact PCP?

Whats the purpose of the short setup? If .22 cal gives you the energy needed for pesting/ hunting its a nice setup and works really good. Cheaper than .30 cal as well. I also have a 380mm .25 cal barrel assembly. I set that up at 35 fpe and it was perfect for night time raccoon pesting and...

    N/A Where to begin

I live in western MT. I normally go after ground squirrels, rock chucks, starlings and house sparrows. Pellets work for everything I do with an airgun which includes pest control out to 100 yds. I started messing with slugs this year not out if necessity but I have been shooting pcp rifles for...

    N/A Where to begin

What are you looking to do with this PCP? Hunt, pest, target, fun plinking, slugs, pellets or all of the above?

    How accurate is your chronograph?

Most are tuned to 10 - 10.5 fpe. They also have anti tamper designs on most and most people have a shop tune the airgun. Its much different than here in the states where we have no restrictions and can adjust things without worry of breaking a law.

    How accurate is your chronograph?

The constables have chronographs on hand to test anyone they feel they need to and they can test with what ever weight projectile they want. Most sub 12 fpe airguns over there are tuned to 10 - 10.5 fpe. to avoid a situation where a constable uses a different projectile or a 2% difference from...

    Coyote #9 - finally

Thats why I said "If you are talking about broadside". You didnt add any context only "no better place than an eye shot" which can lead people with little experience to making an "eye shot" when it shouldnt be taken. Just clearing up any confusion about shot placement for anyone reading.

    Coyote #9 - finally

Very bad shot placement if you are talking about a broad side shot. Look at that skull the brain cavity is well behind the eye when broadside. You will only hit nasal cavity with that shot placement. The pictures of the skulls the OP posted show a perfect shot placement for broadside head shots...

    .177 a 600mm or 700mm barrel and why?

Then I would go with 700mm. Easier to tune for high power which is what you want with slugs most of the time.

    1st PCP; projectile weight questions...

There is no one size fits all with pcp rifles and slugs. You will have to test to find the weight and size your rifle will shoot best. I have the 700mm panthera but its in .22. I do have a 700mm impact in .25 so it should be the same liner as the panthera. My .25 impact has the 16 twist slug...

    .177 a 600mm or 700mm barrel and why?

I dont know why 700mm would be too long for slugs for a .177. If you were setting up for pellets then yes 700mm is way longer than needed for full power pellet shooting. If I didnt care about over all length I would go 700 mm. If you want it a little shorter go 600 mm. I feel 700 mm gives a...

    Slug accuracy thoughts

My first go with trying slugs last year I had a lot of inconsistency in groups. I was trying the standard FX liners with hybrids since they are suppose to work with lighter weight slugs. Mine never did or at least not consistently. This time around I got the 16 twist .25 liner and the 16 twist...
