3D printed DIY handle and stand for Acecare 9L CF tank

I've never seen a gauge larger than 1.5" diameter that has 1/8 NPT thread. A 2" gauge will have 1/4 NPT threads. I'd recommend getting 1.5" gauges from Directmaterial.com in Houston. The smaller tank pressure gauge on my Brancato valve was junk and very inaccurate. I replaced it with one...

3D printed DIY handle and stand for Acecare 9L CF tank

Nice work! You could check the thread pitch on those gauges and replace them with better quality larger gauges. I suspect the thread is M10*1 which is common on Chinese valves that have small gauges. If you check the website you ordered it from they should have that information on their...

what water filters are you using on your GX (cs4) compressor ?

I'd like to hear the opinion of others but a centrifugal filter on the output side of a cs4 seems impractical for this type of compressor. The compressed air output of the cs4 is a miniscule 11 liters per minute. This means that the air output is producing very little centrifugal force inside...

    Flow restrictor question?

Most check valves just have an o-ring on the post with the screw slot as yours does. The spring is immaterial but some have them. It's there as a check valve rather than a flow restirctor.

    Flow restrictor question?

It's not a flow restrictor it's a back check valve. It's spring loaded and that slot on the rear isn't there to adjust flow. It seals using an o-ring on the inside of that slotted back check stem. The slotted end is to aid in removing it to replace the o-ring. I've seen hex threaded brass...

FX Is the FX King a step forward or backward?

My opinion still stands. I like air guns that look like guns. The Impacts have an AR15 vibe and so on. I'm sure the King is functionally fine but it looks like a Rube Goldberg contraption with the short fore end and the angular gauges. I'm an old goat and it took me a long time to warm up...

    Tank / Gauge Failure

Bulging o-rings indicate one of three possible issues. The o-ring is undersized for the application. The valve hasn't been tightened down enough. The durometer of the o-ring is too soft for extreme high pressure use. Most high pressure o-rings are Buna 70 or Buna 90.

Tuning No Hobby For Old Men

I kept waiting for the neighbors to move and there are other aspects of my home that I hate to give up until I'm too old to maintain my home.

    Threads on carbon fiber tank

I use silicone grease on the tank threads but moly paste would work just as well. I've replaced fireman's valves on SCBA tanks and they can be a bear to remove after years being tight with no thread lubricant. The large o-ring is the pressure seal and lubrication makes for easier removal later on.

Tuning No Hobby For Old Men

"50 cents per round for PBs vs. 3 cents per round in airguns" I disagree with this comparison as it is an oversimpification. First of all, the only 3 cent pellets are .177 "off" brands. Larger calibers and slugs can cost more than lead bullets for reloading on a per unit basis. In a PCP, the...

Tuning No Hobby For Old Men

The run in with my neighbor happened 18 years ago. After she went on the warpath she would come over if she heard one pop that sounded like an air rifle being used. Spring guns are louder than PCPs and at the time of our confrontation there was no such thing as a PCP moderator to be had. The...

Tuning No Hobby For Old Men

Thanks for all the replies and suggestions. I started out with a large collection of nice springers and still have 5 of them including a Beeman R9/HW95 that is the fanciest of the bunch. I live in a city and enjoyed shooting in my own wooded back yard until a tree hugger wife of an attorney...

Tuning No Hobby For Old Men

I'll be 76 later this month. I'm discovering that my patience is wearing thin maintaining PCPs and the associated tanks, fittings, and air compressors. I've always been self sufficient in servicing PCPs and equipment for them. The forums and Youtube are great tools for assisting users how to...

N/A HW100 KT replaced the oem tube .

How did you remove the end caps without damaging them? Did you buy the specialized tools in addition to the cylinder? They are locktited on and nearly impossible to remove without marring them unless you have the specialty tools for removing them. Years ago I jumped through a lot of hoops to...

    Air hose question

The flexible microbore hose that comes with an Omega tank is the best I've used. Most other brands of hoses have a black plastic outer layer that can split if kinked or become brittle over time. The Omega hose can be tied in knots and the knit nylon outer covering is extremely wear resistant...

    Krypton compressor issue

I repaired an AV compressor that was the predecessor to this model that was building pressure to 2K psi but no higher. The high pressure piston rings had gone bad. Various fixes had been tried prior with no improvement until the rings were replaced. To change them successfully you need to...

My GX CS4 filling guns, but will not fill my scuba tank.

If the check valve is stuck shut then the compressor would quickly build to the shutdown pressure as it's only pressurizing the hose. It sounds like either a leak in the fill valve or as @jvrobert suggests, are you filling with the tank valve left open? A CS4 is only filling at 11 liters per...

    Tank fill valves on AliExpress

@Black Ice, since 99.9% of DOT approved tanks are threaded .875 x 14 thread, that leaves you with either European made CE approved tanks or Chinese tanks. Try the first one on your list, at least it is a cheap copy of the Scandavian Arms valve although the build quality and smooth operation...
