    30 cal pellet at 100

Shot this one earlier in shifty morning wind. Biggest hold was about 1.25 bulls left and smallest was 6 ring right. I scored it as a RMAC/PAC card with a .350" plug. The inside of the N50 9 ring is nearly the same as the RMAC 10 and the N50 6 ring an about .040" smaller than the RMAC 9...

Daystate I do not know if should be angry or happy.

If you can eject a projectile from your rifle....it has a crown. The crown is the last thing a bullet touches before leaving the barrel. The crown must be perpendicular to the bore and burr free. Anything else is superficial. Mike

Petition to Allow Laser Range Finders in Field Target Competitions

This is a wftf petition. Not a hunter or unlimited thing, The comical part of the whole range finder petition is that there is no real evidence that it is even a real advantage of any kind in wftf. Please note that I said wftf, which is what the "petition" is directed towards. I'm in the...

Field Target is an arms race.

One year at Cajuns it was in the high 80s on the last day. After the match I put my gun in the trunk of the car and headed home to a massive snowstorm in Colorado, I left the gun in the car til the next morning after the storm and when I took it out the barrel was around mid 20s. The first...

Field Target is an arms race.

I'm going to point out a few things here that I tend to think should be obvious but clearly are not when I hear the comments being made. If you want to compare accuracy of anything...you don't do it by small sample group size or by shooting at a ft target. You do it by shooting benchrest...

    Randolph front rest

I have always disliked joystick rests and favored knob type. That has changed. I'm far more likely to take a sighter with the joystick. I'm sure that helps me. The AR250 is a good rest and it will probably be perfect for your application. I've never been a fan of the Randolph front...

    Randolph front rest

There is no slop in the AR250 stick but if you put your gun on the rest and grab your scope turret and wiggle side to side there is a lot of slop in the head. I was concerned about that with my slug gun because it's probably 5-10x the slop you would experience on a knob type rest. I built my...

Petition to Allow Laser Range Finders in Field Target Competitions

Here is a calculated assessment for what happens when you don't range correctly at 12 fpe. It becomes significant beyond 3yds. If you are shooting at 20fpe it's even less. Range error percentage at 55y 1 yard=2 percent smaller 2yards=7 percent smaller 3yards=17 percent smaller 4yards=33...

Petition to Allow Laser Range Finders in Field Target Competitions

Most wftf shooters don't miss targets due to poor ranging....but some think they do. I have thought that on several occasions but eventually figured out that was not really the problem at all.
