Other Rainson Edge X - first impressions

Was out on vacation last week, where airguns don't go. When I got back, the gun was empty. After refilling it and letting it sit overnight I found out that it was losing about 10 bar an hour. I thought that my monkeying with the regulator knob or one of the gauges to let the air out was the cause, but I found out that the leak was coming from around the fill port. Remember this picture?

There's nothing between that fill port attachment and that metal block where the regulator is. There's no o-ring inside that fill port fitting either. I dug out an o-ring from my collection and stuck it on there, and so far it seems to be holding. This might be where that extra dowty seal goes, but if it keeps holding air I'm not going to mess with it.

I'm going to gripe about the manual a little bit. The manual that I got with the gun didn't quite reflect the reality of the gun - it doesn't show the external adapter knob. The printed manual doesn't show jack $#!+ about that fill port's innards, and calls o-rings, x-rings, and dowty seals 'o-ring'.
