    Holy FX threads batman

Within the niche that is prevalent in this forum FX is popular. In other niches they rarely figure.

What spare parts do you keep on hand?

O-rings, although very few. Not so much a spare - but barrel cleaning kit and oil to rub the gun down with.

The High Cost of Air Rifles - Why?

"Perceived value or worth". Which has little to do with what the item costs to supply, but everything to do with how much will be paid by the buyer. After all, don't we all strive to get the maximum for our employment or items we are selling on?

A primer on properly setting up Chairgun

The controlling factor seems to be the programme using the 'zero' as a fixed datum rather than allowing it to be a reactive output.

A primer on properly setting up Chairgun

I do weigh my pellets and select a single weight (+/- 0.1%). I have also noted when doing this that it is rare to get head size variation in single weight pellets. I like to understand the theory and maths behind the empirical data.

Pentagon barrel of the FX Impact

There's a lot about the Smoothtwist that I'm not familiar with (just as soon as I can afford it I will buy one as they seem interesting). I interpret the "outer edge of the crown" to mean a part of the barrel that does not contact the pellet, in which case is it not logical to think no contact =...

A primer on properly setting up Chairgun

I have been pondering the POI change due to the slight variation in pellet weight within a tin. I cannot see how to get Chairgun to calculate this, any ideas? I suspect the change in POI will only be a few 'thou', but I would like to know.

New $2K rifle comes with 20 yard target certification

ncstan, aside your penultimate sentence, you make a very good point.

    Does anyone knows why?

That's a very interesting anomaly, hopefully Coldking or CampFussell will offer some perspective.

New $2K rifle comes with 20 yard target certification

No, I don't think you are too demanding in expecting a modern day (presumably you are talking PCP) rifle to group tightly at 50yds. But what is the importer/distributor claiming the 5-shot target demonstrates? Are they 'certifying' the gun, or offering it as proof of quality/accuracy? Or just...

(SOLVED) Vulcan Accuracy (Strange but True)

What are you aiming at on paper - a dot, a cross, a circle? How are you aiming at it - centred, bracketing? I obviously can't be sure, but maybe it is something to do with how you are seeing the target. How about shooting at an actual size picture of your metal target.

Rifles with varying degrees of accuracy

This just an opinion, but then so are most other posts. Without a doubt the air rifle plays a part, it would be indefensible to claim an oversize barrel the pellet rattles down has no effect. Yes, we have seen a certain type/weight/head size of pellet is important. Nor should we ignore the...
