In theory, due to the high pressure in the regulator, without also increasing the hammer strike energy, pellet velocities can decrease as it's harder to knock the valve open. That's why unregulated guns are not at their best/most efficient performance when filled to max pressure.

Your velocities are the same as mine (mk1 heavies). I've not adjusted the regulator from the factory settings. Your groups are about the same as mine as well. I think that's pretty good performance.

I hope not as I tightened up the slop in my .25 impact power wheel. I was getting about 780 fps out of the box. I'm now getting 820 fps with 34gn mk1 heavies which I'm happy with. So far it's very accurate. I've not tried to adjust the reg pressure which seems to be about 125 Bar if the gauge is...

I've owned a couple of webley tempest air pistols in the past. Never had a problem loading them. Pellets should enter the barrel with ease so something is off with the gun or pellets your using. Have you tried other pellets?
