You could probalby make something to fit that same space under the scope rail out of close cell foam and just put holes through it to slide your slugs into and have more than enough room for 4 slugs and also be easier to access. something like this.
I had never heard of this item so I looked it up. The site does say that it holds two slugs. There is also one picture of it with it partially open. I don't own a Texan (yet) but my TalonP, the cutout is 4 1/2 inches, so you could probably make a pretty close guess as to the available storage...
It most likely weakend from cycling, especially since you do not leave it cocked. But you are correct, it probalby was a poor quality spring to start with.
leaving a spring compressed will not weaken the spring. As Long_Gun_Dallas said, repeated cycling of the spring is what will eventually wear it out, but even that will take a very long time.
1500 strokes of the pump does not seem like easy hand pumping, and I don't think it would be my first choice as something to hike through the woods with, but I would love to have one of them anyway.
Not just airguns. I don't buy version 1.uh0 of anything. Fortunately, I learned that by watching others make that mistake with electronics, cars, motorcycles, etc.......
One of the many reasons I never buy version 1.uh0 I buy when tested by the first couple waves of buyers and any first run issues have been addressed. The I wait for the point where inventories are at a no wait state.
I am just a little hesitant to bring it up but the AirForce TalonP is a really great PCP and does sell in it's basic form for just under $600 I am hesitant only because, if like me, a person will end up have a lot more than the initial purchase price in this gun before all is said and done...
It's JB weld. It's going to pop out with or without release agents. I bought my Prophet performance 1 with the 22lr barrel and decided I wanted a .25 also, so I ordered a.25 RPB and it works perfectly in the original Prophet. In fact, I did not even touch the regulator and it shoots...
I often found myself with the same problem. Grass would get away from me and hide my backstop. The wife failed to see the logic in my just mowing a strip from my shooting table to the backstop.
