Its an awkward procedure (butt in hip/ left thumb on ABT release lever/ right hand pulling lever towards chest).... everytime I cock it, I feel like this dude..... Fortunately its very easy to trust the 48/52's anti bear trap, and personally I feel comfortable (at sub 12) letting go of the...

    TX200 MK1 internal differences from MK3

Would need to consider piston weight and pre load in the equation too fella, phosphor bronze is pretty dense so it may be heavier than the stainless? Either way there'll be m/s in it so entirely negligible 👍

In the UK they limit output by sticking a restrictor under the TP seal and popping in a weaker spring, but they leave the piston weight and stroke length as is, making for a very sluggish cycle. I sleeved the comp tube in mine from 28 to 25mm and modified a TX piston (mentioned in OP) so with...

Not really a formula as opening up a TP or increasing piston mass for eg can have a similar affect on cycle and output, so there is more than One way to skin a cat. It's always a good idea to keep an eye on the static compression ratios as you go though. As long as the TP isn't horribly long...

I suspect you are being a little hard on yourself fella! As much as I'd like to pretend my workshop is super organised and OCD clean, the truth is it has only ever been that tidy ONCE, hence the photo! 😂 Here ya go Rob, a photo of it today..... I can't find anything either 😁👍

My home shop is nothing exciting (and neither am I I'm afraid!) Just have an old Smart and Brown manual lathe, and entry level Sieg bench mill..... I don't have any formal training (have learnt the hard way many times!) and I'm positive real engineers/ gunsmiths would grimace at my approach...

Thank you Rob 👍 Posted another project a few months back (shrouded/ tuned 77k in homemade walnut stock) and have just started on a ground up concealed underlever build. I built the prototype action last year.... ..... running a 21mm skirtless piston (145gr), 4.5mm LW barrel and Rekord...

Sorry for the slow reply gents, not been on for a while as was having a break (obsessing over projects has a habit of upsetting my wife and getting in the way of life in general!) Anyway, many thanks for all of the kind words it really is appreciated :)

    Shrouded Walnut 77K

The grooves were a late edition Heathrow..... As the shroud added just over 3" to the barrel (and I was keen to keep it looking like a carbine) I made the forks of the stock around an inch longer than the standard 77 stock.....the grooves were then added to break up/ slim down that extra length...

Craigs work is superb and id love to be in a position to send it to him, but unfortunately times are very hard in the UK right now and financially many of us are being squeezed for every penny we have 👎 This was very much a budget build from start to finish, with the only real luxury being the...

    Shrouded Walnut 77K

Thank you for the replies and kind words gents 👍 For anyone who may be interested, here are the specs on the tune- I passed these details on to a guy called Dan on the UK AGF as he has an excellent springer efficient spread sheet. He crunched the numbers and my 77 came back at 43%. 4.5mm's...

    Shrouded Walnut 77K

Just thought id share a few pics of my 1987 77k that ive been picking away at through the year, in my little home shop. Now shrouded (and re blacked by a very nice gent called Paul Chell), sitting in a home made english walnut stock (with Ebony cap), running a 176gr skirtless rotating piston...
