    FX Pocket Chrony question

I consider myself competent to understand and use computer and smart phone apps. I've owned the original FX Pocket Chronograph for several years. There have been several automatic software upgrades installed on my phone which have complicated the app. Most of these updates aren't even shown...

Official Thread - Alkin owners - check in!

+1 on Ezana4CE and Scotty1's comments. I've used an Alkin, a Coltri/Daystate, and a Bauer Utilis. They all vibrate when they are running. There is no vibration pad, hammer, etc. that will significantly reduce compressor vibration. If a compressor starts making an unusual sound while running...

    Wika Gauge Repair?

Both brands state same accuracy parameters. I have had no problems with Durachoice gauges showing different readings when compared to known pressures on other gauges.

Official Thread - Alkin owners - check in!

Probably not an issue. Compressing air creates heat. Cylinders get warm, that's why there are fins and a fan. It is a matter of what you think is too hot. If you're worried, then use Anderol 755 or Secolube 800. Secolube 500 is equivalent to Anderol 750. Regardless of which oil you use...

That's not much runtime. I'd still use Secolube 500 if it was mine.

    Daystate/Coltri compressor

It requires a fairly extensive teardown to reach the check valve. Typically it's the final stage check valve that needs replacing so I'm assuming you mean the 3rd or 4th. stage depending on which model you have. If you have basic mechanical skills you can do it without a video. It just takes...

Official Thread - Alkin owners - check in!

I'd be comfortable with Secolube 500. Unless you run a commercial operation a once a day 20 minute run won't require Secolube 800. I only run my compressor 5 hours per year. It doesn't sound like much but that's actually a lot of top offs which only take less than 10 minutes each.

    Shark Tank vs Omega Tank

I own an Omega tank with an HP3 valve and a Joe B. tank with a TJ3 valve. I highly recommend the Omega HP3 from AoA. The Joe B. TJ3 valve is very good, but the HP3 Omega valve is superior. Opening a TJ3 valve requires much greater effort. The Omega opens as smoothly as butter. I had to...

Filtering the Input vs. the Output of the Compressor!

+1 on @Centercut's and @AlanMcD's posts. Output media filters are effective because the air enters them at high pressure which makes adsorbent media beads more effective. Input filters using the same media at atmospheric pressure is an exercise which sounds good but is extremely marginal in...

Carbon fiber tank size comparison chart

It actually does. Think of it this way. If you filled a balloon with a 9L tank filled to 310 bar it would expand to 88 cubic feet of volume. A 6.8L tank would fill a balloon to 66 cubic feet of volume.

Carbon fiber tank size comparison chart

I am the author of the chart in this thread. My original version of this chart used simple math which showed higher tank volumes which were incorrect and inaccurate. It's true that just using volume x pressure will yield a tank capacity higher than the current chart accurately shows. For...

First fill with Alkin Issue with gauge "plug"

When you move the Alkin lever from horizontal (open) position to vertical all you are doing is relieving the pressure from the Alkin fill hose to the fill assembly. It is doing the same thing as opening the bleed valve on your fill assembly. You are depressurizing the fill valve assembly so...

    Carette 2 help needed

Joe Brancato at Airtanksforsale will know the answer to your question assuming the compressor and replacement controller came from them.

    Scba filling valve questions

Go with option #2. It's a complete assembly and easier to operate than the CGA-347 adapter and the original valve. It has 2 gauges to show the air in the tank and the pressure level in your PCP as you fill.

    Alkin w31 Mariner 3hp 220v Plug Cap/Amp Recommendation

What you bought will work fine. The critical factor is the circuit rating and breaker, rather than the plug and recepticle. Alkin's are great compressors. You'll love it.
