Scope recommendations for more forgiving eye box

Thanks for the suggestions. It sounds like it might be easier to just get a new hunting bag!

Scope recommendations for more forgiving eye box

I currently have a Hawke Varmint 2.5-10. It's basically one step above the cheapie Centerpoint scopes in price and features. It has side parallax which is really nice, but the reticle isn't particularly great. At 10x, the eye box is extremely unforgiving. If I set it up in a t-shirt, the...

    A tale of two bunnies

I don't think any common disease is contagious if you cook the meat thoroughly. The danger is from exposure while handling and butchering the animal, or infected fleas or ticks transferring from the animal to you. Google turns up a bunch of articles like this one: Rabbit Hunters Take Note...

    A tale of two bunnies

I started hunting jacks because I wanted to make authentic hasenpfeffer, but I've always been worried about disease. I handle them with thick nitrile gloves meant for auto mechanics. Immediately after I shoot them, I roll them over with a stick and see if there are fleas in the white belly...

    A tale of two bunnies

Went out for a hunt this morning. I've been curious whether Arizona rabbits are edible before the first frost, which is sometimes never unless you go up in the mountains. I'm still pretty new to hunting, so every trip is still a new experience. Today I shot two jacks and saw opposite extremes...

Need advice installing a HUMA regulator

Turns out mine does have the tiny setscrew. I just couldn't see it before. I tried backing the screw out and reinstalling it to see whether the refresh time improved. Now it doesn't regulate at all. (Full cylinder pressure straight through.) I'm afraid I may have messed it up by putting a...

    Choosing the right hand pump

I foolishly spent the extra money on the FX pump. Here's what you don't get for the price: a dust cover for the fill probe a clip to keep the hose from flopping around during transport a foot plate that folds flat for storage rebuild kit oil

Think I need to rethink my BackStop

Fill a cardboard box with rubber mulch from a home and garden store. I think that idea came from someone on these forums.

    Questions for you rabbit hunters

If you're looking for recipes, keep in mind that wild rabbits are much leaner than raised ones. You may have to add fat to a recipe intended for domestic rabbit. There's no such thing as too much butter.

Need advice installing a HUMA regulator

The whole brass piece turns to adjust the pressure. There's a fine groove on one side that serves as the "pointer" for the paper scale. Or at least I assume that's how it works. I did get the pressure that I pointed it at.

Need advice installing a HUMA regulator

I found some photos online. This one was posted by someone here on AN: Mine never had that screw, and it still refills very slowly. It looks like this:

Need advice installing a HUMA regulator

Mine has a threaded hole inside the plenum facing the end of the cylinder, but it didn't come with any screw in that hole.

Need advice installing a HUMA regulator

I had the same problem. It took several minutes to return to the regulated pressure after each shot. Huma's troubleshooting suggestions didn't say anything about a screw, and I ended up just taking out the reg. It's off season in Arizona, so maybe I'll screw around with it more. Can you...

Maybe they will, after the patents expire.
