    Coyote #9 - finally

That is the entire point of my posts. The lack of regard on this forum is astounding. The lack of concern on anatomy and shot placement is a theme here. They're all "good shots" as long as you put a hole in him. Pat yourself on the back. You are far removed from the viewpoint of Sportsmen.

    Coyote #9 - finally

FWIW the 85 yard patterns were shot with a beat up $200 Ithaca 37. Factory fixed full choke- not a screw in.

    Coyote #9 - finally

I've killed several at 60-65 yards with a shotgun. Step up to TSS and 65 becomes a chip shot. I can produce coyote killing patterns at 85 yards that I could post if you're really interested in that sort of thing. Personally I've flattened one coyote with it much further than 85.

Thermtec Vidar 650L Thermal Scope - First Action

It looks a lot like the Nvision reticle. It changes color based on the background at the aimpoint. When you're over grey/black background the reticle is white. When you're over white hot, it changes to a black reticle. What is the magnification and FOV on this unit? Seriously a badazzz...

Thermtec Vidar 650L Thermal Scope - First Action

Looks like a really nice unit. I'd go so far as to say you lucked out that Hikmicro declined to sell to us. :)

It's only on pellet gun forums that a shot like that get's an atta boy and added to the body count. Powder burners may make bad shots but those user groups don't applaud poor shot placement. If Max had been using a shotgun, he'd have put his hands on that one.

It was more than a bit low. There is a lot of area on the head that is non fatal. We all naturally use the eye when using NV as a reference point and it is obvious from the footage that this is the case here. The head was angled down at the shot with the crosshairs slightly below the eye...

Shot was low and too far back. Impact at the back of the jaw. That coyote is still walking around.

    Why Such Explosive Damage?

Hit bone and popped the wing off.

    Hunting in the NW

It is new. Used to be allowed only non classified wildlife. Was surprised to see grouse and rabbits on a list of approved game.

    Hunting in the NW

No big game animals in WA with airguns.

    Zulus LRF vs non

What is the FOV on the Arken at 5x base magnification?

    Zulus LRF vs non

The LRF/ballistic calculators really shine on very close targets when the pellet is coming up through (something like) three inches of rise to meet your 0. Those almost within arms reach shots are tricky holdover calls. The LRF/BC makes shot placement on small vital zones extremely doable...
