What would be your setup for a compact “travel” PCP?

Custom Tear down version of a marauder with its full length gm barrel. Under 6 lbs without scope. Travels well enough in a 32" bag with back straps. Definitely not super compact but far from cumbersome. Its my setup for "pcp" be it compact/full length, bench rested or travel / carry, because...

    Noise of unsuppressed airguns

This forum...5 responses and no one directly answers the mans very direct questions. What are the main contributors to airgun noise, and what (if anything) can I do to reduce it? The peak differential between atmospheric air pressure and the residual air pressure leaving your muzzle. The...

What could it take to get more young adults into airguning?

Trickle down demographics. Till then, its mostly old farts who plink with air guns due to hearing issues and other co-morbidness, and frankly...the youth today ain't giving a crap about what gramps is doing... I'd rather my kid be on a console/phone than a gun anyhow. Everything in this...

Official Release Simple PCP Calculator / Mobile

v1.33 Change: Added fps variance + spread visual on external ballistic sheet. Added temp/altitude variables, and a few other minor UI changes that got rid of what I found unnecessary back end data in exchange for more important shooter data (vertical and horizontal spread)

    Internal and external ballistics spreadsheet

I said I'd release this in May last year, just never said which year. Maybe its 2022? I built this all in 3-4 months during the beginning of the pandemic, but have kind of slept on it for the last year due to burning out on it, it is/was quite overwhelming. Its 98% complete and fully in beta...

Getting mixed opinions about slug weight and efficiency

That makes sense to me, if a valves design is greatly effected by pressure differential in the barrel then that explains it, which appears to be the case here. I am not familiar with Air force valves, so this was a refreshing little lesson. Since barrel pressure helps the valve stay open in the...

Getting mixed opinions about slug weight and efficiency

Speculating does no good, would need to verify your data before we analyze it. Record your air usage over ~5 shots with the 30 gr, then refill to the same psi, and record another 5 shots shooting 60 gr, and report back on the details, psi start, psi end, average fps, pellet weight. -Matt

Why is the efficency of pcp air rifles so low compared to firearms?

I lol'd Pcp projectiles commonly obtain between 20-30% of the total kinetic energy released from the valve depending on a few set of factors....if powder burners are hitting 30% (I am not going to research this myself) then pcp's are nearly on par with them when operating at an efficient...

What’s with all the negativity on AGN lately?

If one should keep their negatively to themselves, then one should also keep ones positivity to themselves as well...for there to be light there must be dark. Nonetheless, if the porridge isn't the right temperature for you, find a new bowl. -Matt
